Dalai Lama
(born 1935) is the spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhism and a global advocate for peace, compassion, and nonviolence. The 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, has spent much of his life promoting dialogue, understanding, and human values. After fleeing Tibet in 1959, he established a government-in-exile in India and continued to advocate for Tibetan autonomy. He was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989 for his efforts toward peaceful solutions. His teachings emphasize mindfulness, kindness, and universal responsibility. The Dalai Lama remains an influential figure in global spirituality and humanitarian efforts.
