Erasmus

(1466–1536) was a Dutch philosopher, scholar, and one of the most influential figures of the Renaissance. Known for his wit and critical thinking, Erasmus advocated for education, religious tolerance, and reform within the Church. His famous work "In Praise of Folly" uses satire to critique societal and religious practices. Erasmus emphasized the importance of classical learning and moral philosophy. His ideas contributed to the development of humanism and intellectual freedom. Despite living during a time of religious conflict, he promoted dialogue and understanding. Erasmus’s legacy continues to influence education and philosophical thought.
