Pliny the Elder

(23–79 CE) was a Roman author, naturalist, and military commander known for his work "Natural History." This encyclopedic text covered a wide range of topics, including science, geography, and art. Pliny’s curiosity and dedication to knowledge made him a key figure in ancient scholarship. He died during the eruption of Mount Vesuvius while attempting to observe the phenomenon. Pliny the Elder’s legacy continues in scientific inquiry and historical study.
