About the author
(1875–1965) was a German-French philosopher, theologian, physician, and humanitarian known for his philosophy of ‘Reverence for Life.’ He dedicated much of his life to serving as a medical missionary in Africa, where he established a hospital in Gabon. Schweitzer was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952 for his humanitarian efforts and ethical philosophy.
